Currently, John is appearing
around New York
and on the road with his group, The John Colianni Quintet (see the new
album info), as a solo performer, or as a guest soloist with other
artists. He and his quintet will also be touring the UK
in the Fall of 2009 .
John (or "Johnny Chops") is also
featured with
the legendary guitarist Les Paul and his Trio, appearing Monday
nights at The Iridium.
John’s playing can be
heard throughout the
soundtrack of the new film, Golden Globe Award winner
“Revolutionary Road” (w/
L. DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, et al), release date

John is also working with pop star
Steve Miller, scoring arrangements and playing piano on
Miller’s upcoming CD.
John's newest CD, "Johnny
Chops," produced
and distributed by Patuxent Records (Rockville, Md.), is JC's first
release recorded with the recently formed John Colianni Quintet. The
Quintet sidemen, Justin Lees (guitar), Yoshiki Miura (rhythm guitar),
Young Robert Wagner (bass), and Matt Fishwick (drums), are terrific
players, and they comprise a cohesive and swinging unit, providing
uplifting accompaniment to John's high-energy Jazz piano
improvisations. |
